It has signed up former Shepherd Chartered Surveyors partner Chris Hunter, who will work alongside Kevin Murchie, a partner in the division, and fellow directors Graeme Boyd and Fergus Mair.

Hunter’s role will focus on the residential property surveys market, including home reports, mortgage valuations, energy performance certificates and expert witness reports. Senior partner Les McAndrew said: “Chris joins our powerhouse of seven directors across our Scottish offices. His experience within the residential industry will be greatly beneficial in adding to the success of our team – not just in Edinburgh, but across all offices.”

The firm said the latest hire comes as it is set for record revenues following a strong year of growth in 2018, with a double-digit year-on-year jump in income through the final months of this financial year.

It added that its city offices – including Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee, Aberdeen, Stirling and Inverness – have contributed to an overall increase in sales.

Additionally, client wins and appointments in 2018 include Scotland House in London and Brussels, Lothian Buses in Edinburgh, and a major residential development at Ardersier on the Moray Firth.
