Glasgow firm to ‘revolutionise’ archive films

A GLASGOW company is set to “revolutionise” the way that archive film footage is saved and viewed after attracting investment from a syndicate.

Run by husband and wife team Michael and Linda Howell and advised by law firm Harper Macleod, iMetafilm has now been backed by £217,000 from business syndicate Kelvin Capital and the Scottish Investment Bank.

The company has developed “game-changing technology” to digitise film stock and make the resultant footage fully searchable.

The founders believe their product could place Scotland at the heart of a new film digitisation industry as it brings new life to some of the world’s estimated 50 millions reels of film.
