Glasgow business employing 320 staff taken over by United Capital

United Capital has completed its largest deal to date with the acquisition of a central heating and electrical services business that employs more than 300 people.

Glasgow-headquartered Saltire Facilities Management was founded in 2000 and has offices across Scotland and the south-west of England. It has some 320 direct employees and an annual turnover of about £30 million.

United Capital boss Graeme Carling said: “Saltire are exactly the type of business that we are looking to acquire, they are a profitable business, deliver facilities management services on large public sector contracts and most importantly have a solid and vastly experienced management team leading the company.

“The existing staff, operatives and management will remain in place and it will be business as usual.”

United Capital, which last year acquired Angus-based electrical services firm Alliance Electrical, has been busy expanding its portfolio.
