FSA targets former directors of iSoft

FOLLOWING a three-year investigation, the Financial Services Authority (FSA) has launched criminal proceedings against four former directors of the IT firm iSoft Group.

The accused, who are charged with conspiracy to make misleading statements, include Patrick Cryne, chairman of Barnsley Football Club, as well as Stephen Graham, Timothy Whiston and John Whelan.

The firm was sold following allegations of "accounting irregularities" related to its involvement in a 6.2 billion NHS software project known as the National Programme for IT.
