More has been appointed to Oregon’s board as director responsible for strategy and business development. The Selkirk-based firm said he would have particular responsibility for driving business in England.

The appointment emerged as the company unveiled a modest rise in full-year turnover to £13.2 million generating a pre-tax profit of £792,000, up from £541,000.

It said the “solid” performance partly reflected its “success in the English housing market”, where turnover increased to £2.4m from £1.4m.

During the year, it bought and equipped a 20,000 square foot production facility in Staffordshire, specifically to service customers south of the Border, and invested heavily in Selkirk.

Chairman Roderick Lawson said: “We have now created new production capacity which will enable us to increase our service to clients as they respond to the recovering housing market.”
