The carrier said the services would include the return of direct flights to Exeter and added frequency on its Belfast City and Birmingham routes, providing “more time-saving options for business travel customers”.

Paul White, business development manager at Glasgow Airport, said: “It’s fantastic that Flybe has brought back the Exeter route from Glasgow. The fact that there will be four services each week throughout this winter demonstrates the demand for this route to the south-west of England – both as a business and a leisure link.”

Flybe chief commercial officer Paul Simmons added: “As part of our commitment to offering our customers a wider range of flights from their local airports, we are pleased to again operate our direct daily Glasgow to Exeter.

“Opening up enhanced business and tourism links, it is a pleasing addition to our winter programme, further delivering on our pledge to provide unrivalled regional connections and onward seamless travel with codeshare partners to the rest of the world.”
