Fly-on-the-wall film-maker The Garden sold to ITV

THE maker of fly-on-the-wall documentaries including 24 Hours In A&E and Inside Claridge’s has been sold for at least £18 million.

ITV’s purchase of The Garden triggers a windfall for founders Nick Curwin and Magnus Temple, who set up the firm in 2010.

Channel 4 documentary 24 Hours In A&E has been sold to nearly 100 territories and its fourth and fifth series are currently being filmed.

Curwin and Temple could be in line for another undisclosed cash payment if The Garden’s profits grow “significantly” from last year’s £2.5 million.

Kevin Lygo, managing director of ITV Studios, said: “A key focus for ITV is to develop hit programmes which we can then export globally and The Garden already has an impressive track record.”
