The convener of the economy, energy and tourism committee, Murdo Fraser, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon and Deputy First Minister John Swinney will also address the conference, which is being chaired by presiding officer Tricia Marwick and held in the debating chamber of the Scottish Parliament.

About 200 business people and politicians from all political parties are set to attend the two-day event, which will be held on 29 and 30 October.

Fraser said: “To be a successful and dynamic economy, our businesses must always be on the lookout for new markets, new technology and new opportunities to grow their business.

“So this year’s conference will consider how Scottish businesses can capitalise on some of these exciting opportunities and to ensure we build a prosperous and productive economy for our future.”
