FanDuel swells its US operations with team of 40

FANDUEL, the Edinburgh-headquartered sports entertainment businesss, has boosted its US workforce by taking on 40 staff from a gaming company.

The firm is setting up a new Orlando office, adding to existing US operations in New York and Los Angeles, where the staff from Zynga will be based. FanDuel, which now employs 180 staff working on platforms for customers to play fantasy sports games including American football and baseball, is also looking to double headcount this year in Scotland and is actively recruiting for software engineers.

The deal to recruit sports technology industry expert Mike Taramykin and 40 experienced game developers comes after a restructuring at Zynga.Nigel Eccles, FanDuel chief executive and co-founder, said: “We are delighted to have this opportunity to hire Mike and his team. Mike brings unparalleled expertise having worked on iconic titles such as and Tiger Woods PGA Tour over multiple platforms.
