Exodus of jobs 'hasn't hit UK'

SHIFTING UK service sector jobs overseas has not led to a net loss of employment in the UK, according to the International Monetary Fund.

Economists at the global financial watchdog found there was "no significant negative effect" on service industries from outsourcing jobs such as call centre staff.

The IMF report focused on Britain because of the level of anxiety over an exodus of jobs overseas. Economists examined 13 service activities.
