Ex-Menzies FD named chairman at meter firm

Paul Dollman, the former finance director at John Menzies, has joined gas meter specialist Smart Metering Systems (SMS) as its chairman.

Dollman, who was finance chief at Edinburgh-based Menzies for more than ten years before stepping down in May, replaces Kevin Lyon, who has left Glasgow-based SMS with immediate effect.

SMS chief executive Alan Foy said: “I would like to thank Kevin on behalf of the whole board for his contribution over the past two and a half years. Our Aim listing was a significant step in the development of the company and I was pleased to have a chairman of Kevin’s calibre to assist us.”

Foy said the firm was planning to appoint more non-executive directors following the appointment of Dollman, who will also chair its remuneration and nomination committees.
