EnerMech wins £20m Wood Group deal

Mechanical engineering outfit EnerMech has secured a £20 million contract to supply tools and rental equipment to energy services major Wood Group PSN.

In order to service the five-year deal, Aberdeen-based EnerMech has created 12 jobs, invested 1.5m in new air compressors, generators and tools and spent 400,000 on a new workshop at its Scottish headquarters.

Doug Duguid, managing director, said the contract was the largest in the firm's three-year history.

"We have completed some ad hoc work on behalf of Wood Group, but this deal signals what I hope will be the start of a long and mutually beneficial relationship, which should offer up further opportunities," he added.

Other recent deals at EnerMech include an 8.2m crane contract with BP Exploration in Azerbaijan.
