Energy firm Everoze chooses Fife for Scottish base

Scotland's renewable energy sector has received a boost with the announcement by technical and commercial energy consultancy Everoze that it is opening a base in Fife.

The company said it was making the move on the back of increasing demand for consultancy services in the renewables market north of the Border, “despite a tough regulatory environment in the broader UK context”.

Its Fife office adds to its premises in Bristol and France. Company partner Joe Phillips told The Scotsman that the business intends to create a hub in Aberdour.

“We have ambitious growth plans there,” he said, noting that it is aiming for about ten staff at the site within two years. “We do not rule out opening other offices in Scotland, but Fife gives us great access to our clients in Glasgow and Edinburgh.”

The operation is to be led by recently recruited partner Zoe Barnes, who was formerly a consultant with BVG Associates and a technology manager at Vestas, who is heading the company’s development in Scotland.

She said: “I’m delighted to be working as part of this exciting new business that has already amassed 12 talented and experienced staff.”

Founding partner Jo de Montgros said the Scottish Government’s “sustained” support for renewables was a key factor in its decision to set up in Fife.

Councillor Lesley Laird, Fife Council’s depute leader, said Everoze’s growth in Scotland strengthens its position “at the forefront of renewable energy and innovation”.
