EICC first in Scotland to meet environmental standard

Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) has become the first business in Scotland to gain new international quality and environmental standards.

The venue is also one of the first in Europe to hold the ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 accreditations, and business excellence manager Reynaldo Guino-o said he was confident the accolade would lead to “increased business wins.”

EICC chief executive Marshall Dallas added: “We pride ourselves on being one of the most sustainable venues on the domestic and international stage so we’re exceptionally pleased to be one of the first European organisations to make the grade with the new international standards.

“It squares well with our ethos and makes a great deal of business sense in the 21st century where our clients and delegates have an expectation that commitment to sustainability is nothing less than front and centre.”

In January, Motherwell-based truck maker Terex became one of the first companies in the world to achieve the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system standard.
