Edinburgh jobs market remains in rude health

The jobs market in Edinburgh remains buoyant with salaries on the rise, according to a new report.

The data from website CV-Library revealed that despite June being “the month of Brexit”, advertised jobs in the Scottish capital surged 34 per cent, making it the top city for growth in the UK.

Lee Biggins, founder and managing director of CV-Library, said: “Last month’s Brexit news has caused concern amongst British businesses, with some areas struggling more than others.

“But, while it is easy to assume that any kind of change is a direct impact of the EU referendum, looking at the data through an objective lens would suggest it’s still far too early to draw a solid conclusion.”

Salaries in Edinburgh increased by 3.1 per cent in June compared to a year earlier, the report added.
