Drysdale moves to Ledingham post

Scottish regional legal practice Ledingham Chalmers LLP today confirms the appointment as a partner of agricultural law specialist, private client and environmental lawyer, Jim Drysdale.

The firm said Drysdale will play a leading role in the firm’s attempt to become a national leader in rural business.

Ledingham Chalmers said Drysdale, a University of Aberdeen graduate, is accredited as an agricultural specialist by the Law Society of Scotland and recognised as a leader in his field by national legal directory Chambers UK 2013. It added that he also knew the renewable energy sector including onshore wind, hydro, and coalbed methane gas, and is a co-founder of a cross-border environmental group that analyses developments in environmental law.

Jennifer Young, chairman of Ledingham Chalmers, said securing Drysdale as a new partner was a coup, adding that with more than 30 years’ experience he was “a superb fit with our strategic growth plan”.

Drysdale is also a member of the Agricultural Law Association, a former treasurer of the UK Environmental Law Association, and a member of the Law Society’s Rural Affairs Committee.
