DJ Alexander looks beyond family for new director

Property lettings specialist DJ Alexander has appointed its first director from outside the family that runs the Edinburgh business.

Head of business development Rob Trotter has been promoted to the new role of associate director at the firm, founded in 1982.

Trotter, who joined DJ Alexander 13 years ago as a lettings negotiator, said: “This is an important milestone for the firm and clearly I am delighted to have been elevated in this way.”

DJ Alexander is led by brothers David and John Alexander, and last year sec­ured “substantial funding” from private and institutional investors to push forward with an acquisition programme.

Having taken over two other rental companies, Edinburgh-based EPM and Regimental Properties of Musselburgh, the business now has 4,400 properties under management in the Edinburgh and Glasgow areas.
