Director Dealings: Vending machine firm sees jump in sales

BRULINES, the technology company behind Dunfermline-based vending machine monitoring business Vianet, saw strong growth in sales in the last six months.

The company, which also owns businesses monitoring beer and petrol usage, saw profits edge up by 3 per cent, although sales rose by 24 per cent driven by a number of acquisitions.

Last week two directors upped their holdings in the company.

Jim Dickson bought 20,000 shares to take his holding up to 3.8 million, and James Newman bought 10,000 and now holds 40,000. They both paid 110p each for the shares.

• Stephen Holm, a non-executive director at Russia-focused property development company MirLand, has bought 4,375 shares at 248p each.

• Simon Olswang, a non-executive director of water filtration specialists Amiad, has bought 5,000 shares at 195p each. He now holds 35,000 shares in the company.

• Godfrey Davis, chairman and chief executive of Mulberry, has sold 650,000 shares at 850p each in the company following strong gains in the share price over the past year.

• Stephen Morana, finance director at gambling exchange Betfair, has bought 100,000 worth of shares following a sharp fall in its market value after interim figures were poorly received by the City.

• The family trust of Bob Diamond, the new chief executive of Barclays, has bought 363,179 shares at an average price of 273.97p a share. He now has a total interest in almost ten million shares in the group.
