Dignity profits on the increase

DIGNITY, the UK's only listed funeral group, yesterday reported a 10.5 per cent increase in underlying operating profits to £40.1 million in the 39 weeks to 28 September.

The group – which has 22 crematoria throughout the UK, including sites in Irvine, Dundee and near Buckie – employs more than 2,200 people.

Peter Hindley, chief executive of Dignity, said: "The group continues to perform well and remains in line with expectations for the full year."
