Digital entrepreneur gets on board at Stagecoach

Transport giant Stagecoach has appointed digital entrepreneur James Bilefield as a non-executive director.

Former Skype executive James Bilefield is joining Stagecoach's board

The Perth-based group said that Bilefield, a former executive at Skype and Yahoo, will join its board at the start of next month.

Having also managed the “digital transformation” of media group Condé Nast across 27 countries, he is now chairman of event ticketing business Ticketscript, an adviser to management consultancy McKinsey & Company and sits on the advisory board to the UK Government Digital Service.

Stagecoach chairman Sir Brian Souter said: “Technology is rapidly transforming mobility, offering significant opportunities to deliver better and more personalised solutions for our customers.

“Digital developments also provide powerful new tools for our employees and management teams in the running of our businesses. James’ extensive digital expertise and international commercial experience will further strengthen the board.”
