Danish link-up for First Group

FIRST Group, which runs trains and buses throughout the Lothians, has moved closer to launching in Scandinavia.

The firm, owner of FirstScotrail, has received competition clearance from the European Commission to form a joint venture with DSB for public passenger rail services in Denmark and Sweden. DSB is wholly owned by the Danish Ministry of Transport.

It would see the firms operate a rail service under the banner Oresundstag.
