A joint venture between Kier Property and Amber Infrastructure Group has completed a £10 million redevelopment in Glasgow’s west end to create accommodation for hundreds of students.

Lysander Student Properties, the operating name for the partnership, appointed Kier Construction to carry out the revamp of Clifton House and Stewart House.

Located on Clifton Place, Clifton House will provide a total of 213 bed spaces, while Stewart House on Elderslie Street will have 51 studio flats.

Earlier this year, Kier completed a similar project on Dumbarton Road in Partick, which Brian McQuade – managing director of its Scotland and north-east England business – said highlighted the builder’s “continued commitment to the construction sector in Scotland”.

Pip Prongué, director of Lysander Student Properties, added: “The sites will go a long way in supporting the accommodation needs of young students attending university in Glasgow for years to come.”
