SOFTWARE firm Gael has won a contract from the United Arab Emirate’s general civil aviation authority to improve aircraft safety in the Middle East.

The East Kilbride-based company is using an iPad-based system to run its Q-Pulse “compliance management application” to regulate the safety performance of almost 800 operators and 600 aircraft flying in the UAE’s airspace. Gael chief executive Ashley Marron said: “With the iPad, the time taken to carry out an audit is radically reduced as the process is made more simple, more accurate and more effective.”
