BARCLAYS is the least trusted brand in Britain – according to new research from the consumer organisation Which? suggesting the bank is still suffering reputational fallout from the Libor price fixing scandal.

And Tesco, Britain’s biggest supermarket also has an image problem, coming second in the list of brands people trusted least.

McDonalds, British Gas and Sky are included on the least trusted list while Mark & Spencer, Apple and Heinz were the brands most trusted .

Which? said: “Perhaps unsurprisingly, given recent scandals such as PPI mis-selling and the rigging of the Libor rate, the survey showed consumers are most likely to distrust financial brands.”

The survey asked 2,000 consumers to rate the brands.
