Hunter and Sorrell back e-commerce acquisition

A BUSINESS in which Sir Tom Hunter and Sir Martin Sorrell are investors has acquired a Canadian electronic commerce company.

Hunter’s West Coast Capital and Sorrell’s advertising company WPP are the key investors in eCommera which has bought OrderDynamics, serving 30 multi-channel retailers in north and central America.

The value of the deal, first revealed in May, was not disclosed.

Andrew McGregor, co-founder and chief executive of eCommera, said: “Tomorrow’s orders will be sourced from a wide variety of locations. Order management capabilities are critical to driving a high-quality consumer experience.”

The combined businesses will serve 70 brands and retailers across the globe through their offices in Dallas, London, Paris, Pune in India, San Francisco, Sofia and Toronto.

OrderDynamics will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of eCommera and run by its current management team.
