Car dealer Barnetts has opened Scotland’s first Volvo “concept” showroom as part of a £1 million investment in Dundee.
The new facility, dubbed the Volvo Retail Experience, is the culmination of a 50-year relationship between the dealership and the Swedish marque.
Paul Barnett, group chairman and son of founder Bob Barnett – who began selling Volvos in the city’s Seagate in 1965 – said: “We’re very proud to be investing in the city once again.”
The Volvo Retail Experience, heralded as the first major overhaul for the brand’s dealership style for a decade, sees 40 per cent of the showroom transformed into a “living room” with Scandinavian-designed furniture and free Wi-Fi. The remaining space becomes a “street” displaying the new car range.
