A boutique Manhattan-based financial compliance recruitment agency run by three Scottish expatriates has landed a coveted spot in the prestigious Inc.5000 list of America’s fastest-growing young companies.
MJ Boyd Consulting was founded by Malcolm Boyd six years ago in the wake of the financial crisis, and already has turnover of $7 million.
Boyd, from Larbert, and a former chartered accountant with Grant Thornton in New York, said he believed the market would remain “buoyant” amid the continued regulatory crackdown on money-laundering.
Alex Pole, an anti-money-laundering specialist from Edinburgh, joined MJ Boyd in 2012, while another Scottish financial professional, Grant Hoskin, from Stenhousemuir, joined the firm last summer.
Pole said: “Malcolm’s well known in the Scottish network in New York and makes it a point to be a connector for anyone moving from Scotland to New York.”
