ACCOUNTANT Johnston Carmichael has launched a consulting division focused on the Scottish corporate and SME market.

It is being headed by chartered management accountant Alistair Black and is aimed at large, medium and small-sized firms to support them during periods of change.

Black takes on the role of consulting director, and his experience includes more than 20 years in senior executive and consulting roles across various industrial sectors, including spells at Cala Group and IndigoVision.

He said: “As a professional services firm we recognise that our role is to help our clients succeed. Our new consulting offering is a natural extension of the expertise and services already provided by Johnston Carmichael and is aimed at helping our clients become even more successful through periods of change and improvement.”

Johnston Carmichael’s chief executive, Sandy Manson, described Black as an “exciting hire” and the firm’s new consultancy will enable it to harness its extensive financial and operational experience, “to enhance the support we offer to clients and help prepare them for future challenges”.
