Accountancy firm Campbell Dallas is investing £250,000 on the recruitment and development of 15 apprenticeship accountants this year.

The firm, which has offices in Aberdeen, Glasgow, Perth and Stirling, said the commitment was in addition to the 50 staff currently under training contracts.

Bosses said the practice was already one of the largest providers of accountancy apprenticeships in Scotland, and had focused on developing and retaining talent in response to a major shortage of skilled young people across the profession.

In recognition of the firm’s commitment to young talent, it has also been awarded the highest level of Investors in Young People accreditation.

Campbell Dallas managing partner Chris Horne said: “Since we began the programme we calculate that the firm has invested well over £1 million in employing, training, and development of staff. In return we are growing our own talent.”
