Weir Group chief operating officer Dean Jenkins is leaving the engineer to move back to Australia.
The Glasgow-based firm said the Australian citizen, who joined in November 2010 and was promoted to chief operating officer at the start of this year, will step down from its board on 30 September to “spend more time with his family”.
However, the aerospace engineering graduate, who previously worked for Australian airline Qantas, will remain an employee of Weir until the end of the year after agreeing to continue leading its innovation, technology and safety strategies as he hands over his other responsibilities to other executives.
Chairman Charles Berry said: “I would like to thank Dean for his hard work and commitment to the Weir Group over the last six years.
“In his time with the group, Dean has served with distinction as divisional managing director of the minerals and former power and industrial divisions and, latterly, as chief operating officer.”
