Cancer specialists gather for Edinburgh biotech conference

The conference will discuss ways of making molecules more effective in fighting cancer

The event, at the University of Edinburgh’s Institute of Genetics & Molecular Medicine, has been organised by the Innovation Forum, a global organisation led by young researchers that aims to foster innovation in biotechnology, clean technology and engineering.

Harsh Vaidya, founder of Innovation Forum Edinburgh, said: “The Innovations in Oncology conference will bring together global pharmaceutical companies, local companies active in oncology, and academic researchers with an aim to facilitate long-term partnerships to address the current and future challenges of cancer treatment.”

He said the event will focus on the main challenges of designing more effective molecules to combat cancer, addressing the rising costs of treatments and how Scotland can foster more innovative therapeutic and diagnostic companies.
