The Edinburgh company will provide water and waste water services to more than 200 sites managed by Savills across Scotland and England.

The deal extends the relationship between the two businesses, which have worked in partnership since the Scottish retail water market opened in 2008.

Business Stream said it has worked with the property firm to develop a “unique” offering that meets the specific water requirements of complex customer portfolios held by managing agents, such as when there is a change of tenancy.

Shaun Greenwood at Savills said: “Our focus going forward will be to work with Business Stream to build on our water efficiency efforts to date, helping us to meet our sustainability ambitions.”

Jo Dow, chief executive of Business Stream, added: “We are delighted that they have agreed to renew their partnership with us and we’re looking forward to working with them to identify further environmental and financial savings.”

In January Business Stream won back a government contract valued at £200 million from English competitor Anglian Water. The three-year agreement covers Scotland’s public sector bodies including local authorities, NHS Scotland, Scottish Government and universities and colleges.
