Stagecoach – The transport group is to invest in an automatic vehicle location system for its 7,000–strong regional bus fleet in the UK.

Work on a pilot is expected to be completed by summer 2014, with the system fully deployed by the end of the following year, allowing for real–time service information to be provided.

• EnviroCentre – A four–year extension has been secured to the firm’s contract with LLW Repository to review safety planning for its low–level radioactive waste facility in West Cumbria.

• Kier – A further boost is expected from the UK government’s spending review after the firm revealed a robust order book. The update came as it completed a £221 million acquisition of road maintenance specialist May Gurney, giving it a first toehold in Scotland.

• DTZ – Justin Beveridge has been appointed an associate director in the property agency’s Edinburgh land and development team. He was previously with DM Hall and Kenmore

• Driver Group – The construction consultancy, which recently opened a base in Aberdeen, has won a three–year contract with Wood Group subsidiary JP Kenny Caledonia. Services covered by the deal include cost planning for JP Kenny Caledonia’s pipeline and subsea engineering projects.
