Burmese deal a first for Wood

oil services firm Wood Group has been awarded its first major contract in Burma.

The deal to overhaul and upgrade three gas turbines for a power company is for one year and worth $13 million (£8.4m). It has been secured by the Aberdeen firm’s Wood Group GTS division.

The work is expected to improve the total output of the gas turbines and provide increased reliability to the country’s power production, Wood Group said yesterday.
