BBC Scotland in £1m radio software upgrade

Broadcasting software specialist Scisys has won a contract to upgrade the radio production system at BBC Scotland.

The firm said the project, valued at more than £1 million, will see it replace its current systems with next-generation Windows-based software. Work will begin immediately in Edinburgh and Pacific Quay in Glasgow, before extending to nine regional sites, and the project is expected to be completed in 2015.

Scisys chief executive David Jones said: “This is a key contract win for Scisys and underlines the strength of the relationship established between Scisys and the BBC.

“It provides further long-term revenue visibility and gives further comfort on our progress towards meeting market expectations for the current financial year.”
