Babcock's stronger Strathclyde ties

ENGINEERING giant Babcock is extending its partnership with Strathclyde University's business school by launching a special staff training course for "emerging leaders".

Babcock, which has spent about 2 million in executive training at the university over the past five years, already runs two development schemes for senior managers at Strathclyde.

The group is extending its training scheme to cope with the number of staff added through takeovers, which have boosted sales from 471m in 2005 to 3 billion last year.
