Asda deal for Indian food manufacturer Mrs Unis

Edinburgh-based Indian food supplier Mrs Unis Spicy Foods has secured a £150,000 contract with supermarket chain Asda to supply four new flavoured naan breads, including a chicken tikka and coriander option.

The deal extends a two-year partnership with the Walmart-owned business, already selling its handmade pakora range via Asda’s 61 Scottish stores, and Mrs Unis said working with the retailer has allowed it to grow its workforce by 150 per cent to 45.

Shaheen Unis, founder and managing director of her eponymous firm, said: “I have always worked to use the best, most authentic ingredients in hand-producing our products and this is truer than ever when it comes to making our new naan breads.”
