Apple to unveil its latest iPad next week

APPLE is due to unveil its new incarnation of the iPad next week.

Journalists were sent an invitation for an event to be held on Wednesday, stating: “We have something you really have to see. And touch.”

Although the company did not say the press conference will be about the iPad 3, it is widely expected that the new product will be revealed in the US this month – and is likely to go on sale shortly afterwards. The new version is expected to have an improved screen, while it is also likely to have a faster processor and a longer battery life.

However, technology observers have warned that the new version may not offer many differentiating features – in a similar way to the iPhone 4S, which disappointed gadget fans when it was unveiled last year.
