All eyes on the new Galaxy S4

THE first smartphone with a screen which can be controlled by the user’s eyes is to go on sale in the UK today. The Samsung Galaxy S4 was due to become available in UK shops from 10am. The handset is thought to pose the greatest threat yet to Apple’s rival device the iPhone.

Stuart Miles, founder of technology and gadget site Pocket-lint, said the Galaxy S4 – Samsung’s most advanced handset yet – was likely to become an “incredibly popular phone”.

“I think sales of the SGS4 will do well tomorrow as customers are keen to get the latest Android flagship and carriers are keen to sell it,” he said.

According to Samsung’s latest figures, smartphone and mobile communications sales jumped 7 per cent over the last quarter, accounting for around 75 per cent of the company’s profits.
