The visit, led by Kazakh ambassador to the UK Yerzhan Kazykhanov, was part of a wider three-day programme that included meetings with business, government and academia in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Aggreko already operates in Kazakhstan’s oil and gas sector and is looking to expand into the mining and petrochemicals industries, while building closer ties with its national energy grid.

Kazykhanov was assistant to the Kazakhstan president and has served as the republic’s minister of foreign affairs.
