Advertising spend looks set to surge

Advertising spending in the UK is expected to grow by 6.6 per cent this year, well ahead of the 5.4 per cent rate of expansion predicted in September, according to the latest Advertising Association/Warc Expenditure Report.

The rise would make 2010 the strongest year for UK advertising spend growth since 2004 and comes on the back of another stronger-than-expected performance in the third quarter with a rise in ad spend of 7.3 per cent.
