ACS Clothing hangs its hat at Eurocentral unit

EUROPE’S largest formal dress hire company is relocating to the Eurocentral industrial park on the M8 in one of the biggest recent lettings of its kind.

ACS Clothing, which will move from its existing bases in Glasgow and Manchester, will pay landlord Arisaig Property Partners £426,700 a year for the newly-built 85,340sq ft Orion unit on a 15-year lease, with an option to leave after ten years.

Colliers International represented ACS, while CBRE and Jones Lang LaSalle acted for Arisaig. David Rolwegan, associate director at CBRE, said: “There has been a lack of large lettings in the industrial sector in recent years so it is great news we have been able to secure this deal.”

ACS, which already has contracts to supply Austin Reed and Slater Menswear, last year bought former Burnley-based rival Etiquette Formal Hire out of administration for £2 million, following a £6m loan and overdraft deal with Clydesdale Bank.

The deal involved ACS, which has about 180 staff, taking over a contract to supply department store chain Debenhams, which it expects to help it grow its turnover to £12m from £8m.
