Aberdeen firm wins US turbine contract

WOOD Group, the oil and gas services giant, has won a $27 million (£17m) contract to maintain turbines at two power stations in the United States.

Aberdeen-based Wood will be responsible for operating and maintaining the combined cycle industrial gas turbines at the plants in Maine and Rhode Island, which are owned by Brick Power Holdings.

The five-year contract covering the 265MW output stations was won by Wood Group after a "highly competitive selection process", Brick Power said.
