3-D laser surveyor Scopus Engineering in £13m boost

LASER surveying firm Scopus Engineering has received a £13 million cash injection from London-based venture capital group Growth Capital Partners (GCP) to fund international expansion.

The Aberdeen-based company’s founders, Tom Bryce and Andy Inglis, will continue to run the business and retain a majority holding after GPC took a minority stake with its investment.

The company also announced that John Forrest, the former UK head of Canadian oil and gas company Talisman Energy and a former director of Mobil North Sea, has joined as a non-executive chairman.
