Bongani Zungu: South African midfielder has played last game for Rangers
The South African midfielder was centre of a protracted transfer deal last summer – which finally concluded with a move confirmed very late on transfer deadline day last October.
Rangers took the midfielder on loan with a view to buy – but they won’t be acting upon that option, according to French news site Courrier Picard.

Hide AdZungu has now played his last game for the Scottish champions, and is currently suspended for breaching coronavirus protocols.
The Bafana Bafana star was one of five players handed six game bans by the Scottish Football Association – two of which were suspended – and the suspensions kicked in late last month after Rangers’ appeal against the punishment was dismissed.
Zungu along with team-mates Nathan Patterson and Calvin Bassey have already sat out the Scottish Cup quarter final defeat to St Johnstone and Sunday’s Old Firm win over Celtic as part of their four matches, and will miss next Wednesday's league clash with Livingston and the trophy day encounter with Aberdeen on May 15.
The midfielder started just four games for Rangers having been forced into two periods of covid isolation after his move and following international duty – plus his rule breach quarantine.
He will head back to Amiens where he signed a new one-year contract extension last summer, while Rangers courted his services, his French club coach Oswald Tanchot has confirmed.
Zungu’s final appearance came in the final minute of last month’s 2-1 victory over Hibs at Ibrox.
