SCREENING: Back to the Future Trilogy

In celebration of Back to the Future Day, the National Trust for Scotland will be screening the trilogy for fans across the country. At Haddo House in Ellon, you’ll also be able to indulge in a hot buffet, and get your photo taken with a real DeLorean.

EXHIBITION: Star Wars in Glasgow

As excitement for The Force Awakens builds, Glasgow’s Variety Bar is transformed into every Star Wars fan’s dream. Exploring what the film would be like set in Glasgow, the exhibition will include digital artwork from Mark Boyle’s ‘Star Wars in Glasgow’ collection, original art by award winning comic book artist Neil Slorance and pieces from props and replica specialist Mike Lawson.

FILM: The Program

Picking up where various documentaries have left off, The Program brings the already highly gripping and dramatic story of one of sport’s most notorious scandals to the big screen. Having claimed seven victories at the famous Tour De France race, Lance Armstrong has become untouchable in his field. Journalist David Walsh (Chris O’Dowd), suspicious of his success, investigates further and works to expose the cyclist’s web of lies.

MUSIC: Spector

Once featured on BBC’s Sound of 2012 list, Spector have survived their sudden exposure to the spotlight and returned with a slightly more serious second album. Drawing comparisons to the Strokes and the Killers, the band are likely to see their biggest year yet with adoration for their new album, Moth Boys, coming in across the board.

THEATRE: Descent

Descent deals with a couple’s struggle to hold on to each other in the face of dementia. The 50 minute show, which is part of A Play, A Pie and A Pint, is a powerful depiction of the devastation the degenerative disease can bring to relationships.
