MUSIC: RANDOLPH’S LEAP
Part of the ‘Nothing Ever Happens Here’ gig series, Glasgow eight-piece Randolph’s Leap will be bringing their folk-tinged charm across from the west for a gig at Edinburgh’s Summerhall. The group’s first official LP Clumsy Knot was released back in 2014 and received critical praise for their witty indie pop sensibilities.

FILM: TELL SPRING NOT TO COME THIS YEAR
Tell Spring Not to Come This Year follows a single unit of the Afghan National Army over their first year operating in Helmand without NATO backing. The film shines a light on a much under-reported voice in the war in Afghanistan. Co-director director Saeed Taji Farouky will be attending for a post-screening Q&A session.

EXHIBITION: CURIOUS: CARNIVAL OF THE SOULS
A project originally put together by Manchester’s new creative hub Home, Carnival of the Souls is an unnerving cinematic experience, removing the visual elements and focusing on the effects of sound on the body and mind. Prepare to be plunged into complete darkness and taken through an adapted tale based on a 1960s horror cult classic. Not for the feint of heart.

THEATRE: SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARVES
It wouldn’t be the festive season without some mention of pantomime, would it? The King’s Theatre in Glasgow will be getting their ‘oh no it isn’t’ chants underway tonight, with their adaptation of Snow White and The Seven Dwarves - featuring Gregor Fisher (aka Rab C Nesbitt).
