Mr Picard said: “Performing my first public concert with the outstanding musicians of the RSNO was a memorable experience. The iconic music of these classic movies is surely known by everyone and means a lot to many, and to be able to share it in such a vibrant public space was a beautifully peculiar way to start my musical relationship with this country.”

Francois Bourienne, commercial director at Glasgow Airport said: “For many people, Glasgow Airport is their first and last impression of Scotland and the RSNO’s live performance ensured thousands of passengers took away some very special memories of both Scotland and the airport.

“This is the third year in the row we have worked with the RSNO as part of our Best of Scotland event which in addition to creating a bit of theatre in the airport, showcases everything that is great about Scottish culture.”

The Orchestra will be performin The Wizard of Oz complete with screening of the film at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on Saturday 19 October (3pm and 7.30pm), and The Music of John Williams on Saturday 8 March 2014 (7.30pm). For more information go to www.rsno.org.uk.
