Unusual picture of haar rolling in over Dundee
DUNDEE-based photographer Corinne Mills captured this rather unusual view of a good old fashioned Scottish haar rolling in over the city of Discovery.
Corinne took the photo from Dundee Law earlier this week.
Scotland has been hit by regular mist at nights this week.
A haar, or coastal fog, is formed over the sea and brought to land by the wind, most commonly when warm moist air moves over the cooler North Sea, causing the moisture to condense and form haar.
Sea breezes and easterly winds then carry the haar inland to the east coast of Scotland and north east of England.
During summer, the heating of the land creates a sea breeze, and can bring the haar several miles inland.
