Tracy Beaker author in line for book prize

A MOTHER drawing inspiration from her own experiences of raising a disabled child has been shortlisted for the Waterstone's Children's Book Prize.

Laura Summers, who wrote the TV show The Story of Tracy Beaker, penned her debut novel, Desperate Measures, aware that few children's books have main characters with learning disabilities.
